She also received her M.Ed from Crambridge College in 2006. Phil and Jamy married in 2004 and have one little girl. They live in Cumberland, Rhode Island and have both been working with the youth group since they were engaged in the summer of 2004.

Our Mission:
To lead youth into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by learning and living God's Word, influencing friends and developing and experiencing personal ministry.

Reach:
At Ocean State Baptist Church our teens are peer-centered, relationship-centered and Christ-centered. We offer activities with adult supervision, a great atmosphere that promotes fun and a place where the teens have a chance to bring their friends to a relaxed environment.

Connect:
As leaders, we love to connect with the teens and learn about them and help them grow in the Lord. To do this, we have a lot of activities* to promote getting to know each other and have fun doing it! Here are some examples:

  • Six Flags Theme Park
  • Concerts
  • Paintball
  • March Madness
  • April Adrenaline

Grow:
As a parent, we understand that you want to be sure your teen is in good hands and will grow spiritually and emotionally from this group. So we created a spot especially for you to let you know what it is we are working toward for the teen department of Ocean State Baptist Church.

  • To bring passion and understanding to their personal prayer time with God
  • Teaching the fundamental principles of God's Word in a practical way
  • Building Godly relationships in a Christ-centered environment
  • Presenting opportunities to serve God through the church to the world
  • Promoting mutual accountability through mentorship, friendship and to the local assembly

We hope this helps you to understand our purpose as Youth Leaders and encourage your input in our support to ready your teens for their future.

Challenge:
As leaders of teenagers, we would not be doing our job unless we challenged the kids to walk with the Lord, and become leaders who help others learn about Him. Each week we add a new devotion to this part of the site for our teens to read and think about. We also have encouraged our teens to write a devotion about something they have learned- so keep your eyes open for one of their lessons!

Discover:
We know that teens have a lot of questions and like to discover new things about their life, but also about the Bible and things pertaining to their faith. That is why we thought it was vital to offer them a confidential* question and answer place. Teens can ask their questions and be offered Biblical advice from a certified counselor who also has an extensive education in Bible. So whether you’re having a disagreement with a friend or you need answers to some questions rolling around in your head- this is the place to ask.
